Pet Travel Bowls Provide Pet Refreshment on the Trip

Just as we like to have something to quench our thirst or satisfy our hunger when we travel our pets do too. That is why there is a market for pet travel bowls. The characteristics we want in pet travel bowls are that they will be compact, spill proof and easy to clean. Pet stores have cat and dog travel bowls, but there is a much larger variety on the internet.

Some examples of pet travel bowls for water are those that resemble a rabbit water bottle, but instead have a bowl at the bottom and a controlled flow valve to prevent leaks. This type of pet travel bowl can be carried with you and held down for the pet or another similar dog travel bowl will clip to the side of a dog travel crate.

If you want to give your dog water from a dog travel bowl you may like the style of bowl that has a pop on “donut hole” type lid. The water is accessible in the middle, while the edges remain sealed. This style of dish is good even at home for a dog that has long droopy ears that tend to get wet.

Another style of dog travel bowl is a collapsible version. It can be opened up and filled with food or water, cleaned when you are through using it and collapsed into a smaller size again.

With an online search you can find lots of travel bowls and dishes suitable for dogs and cats. If your pet is your favorite travel companion in your car, there is even a pet food and water container designed to fit your cup holder. It has a splash guard and can safely and neatly hold about a pint of water when on the road, and a quart when on the floor. The innovation with this product is a base that holds food or treats for your pet as well. There are lots of choices in pet travel bowls.

  • I saw a neat version of a travel water bowl the other day. It was a long, wide spout that screws on to the lid of any normal waterbottle. Then you tip the waterbottle down, and the dog can drink right from the spout/bowl part.
